"Consistent updates about safety
through education, support and tool box talks are the keys to a successful
safety program. Strong support from the management staff is imperative to
encourage safety as one of our fundamental values." - Klint South, Safety
Director
We encourage employee participation in
safety by utilizing our Safety Incentive Program, paid OSHA training courses,
and weekly safety meetings. Our Safety Incentive Program is a quarterly
drawing for employees who have achieved zero injuries, disciplinary notices or
safety infractions, and who participate in safety meetings or scheduled
training sessions.
We have a designated joint
employee-management Safety Committee to protect the safety and health of our
employees. It's goal is to maintain employee interest in operating a safe
workplace, communicating information regarding safety to all employees,
performing on going evaluations of the safety program, and assisting the
safety director and management in establishing safety rules. Meetings are held
once a month to review injury data, inspection forms, and employee safety
complaints and/or suggestions. There is an annual election for new committee
members.
